[08:38:21] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[08:38:21] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[08:38:22] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> ipv4 addresses are not that many..easy to remember.. ;-)
[08:38:55] <abaumann> about python: python 3.10 is still stuck in staging, most likely because not everything can be rebuilt. The question is: when do we force move it?

[12:16:50] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[12:16:50] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[12:16:51] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> finally I have an excuse to sit inside all day and hack away..
[12:17:06] <abaumann> mmh. the buildmaster broken in a (to me) unknown way.

[20:25:28] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> a babe is a checksum error
[21:17:54] -!- deep42thought has joined #archlinux32
[21:17:54] <buildmaster> Hi deep42thought!
[21:17:55] <buildmaster> !rq deep42thought
[21:17:55] <phrik> buildmaster: <deep42thought> testing is ok, but god-forbid don't tell me any results!
[21:18:11] <deep42thought> bill-auger: what's up?
[21:18:21] <deep42thought> nah, sry for the ping.
[21:18:24] <deep42thought> buildmaster: what's up?
[21:18:24] <buildmaster> up? I'm up for 8 hours, 51 minutes, load average: 3.15, 3.55, 3.59
[21:18:36] <deep42thought> abaumann: Hi!
[21:18:44] <deep42thought> the buildmaster looks busy, bot okayish
[21:53:26] <abaumann> hi deep42thought
[21:53:39] <abaumann> ah, thanks for checking. I moved away some scripts in 'work'
[21:54:13] <abaumann> I think there was a deadlock between a get-updates and a web page with the broken packages list, which got the same deadlock error.
[21:55:00] <deep42thought> broken web pages should not really lock up the buildmaster
[21:55:09] <deep42thought> archlinux32.org lives on its own host :/
[21:55:16] <abaumann> ah. true.
[21:55:27] <abaumann> mmh. then I don't know what the problem was.
[21:55:47] <abaumann> but I moved the scripts in 'work' into 'work/broken' for further inspection on the buildmaster
[21:56:53] <deep42thought> ok, I'll take a look
[21:59:14] <deep42thought> a db-update failed
[21:59:53] <abaumann> ah, ok, that would be mine then I suppose.. :-)
[22:00:05] <abaumann> I usually call it when I changed some packages in git.
[22:00:15] <deep42thought> well, but it should not fail ;)
[22:00:32] <deep42thought> "ERROR 2013 (HY000) at line 1: Lost connection to server during query"
[22:00:36] <deep42thought> is the first error
[22:00:56] <deep42thought> and it looks like a parameter-less db-update call to me
[22:01:03] <deep42thought> e.g. no -f or so
[22:01:26] <abaumann> ./get-package-updates -w
[22:01:28] <abaumann> yes.
[22:01:40] <abaumann> maybe simply too many connections?
[22:01:48] <abaumann> I saw something similar some days ago.
[22:02:33] <deep42thought> get-package-updates did not fail
[22:02:40] <deep42thought> but it also puts much less load on the db ...
[22:04:36] <deep42thought> the funny thing is: for the really critical things, there are now so many fail-safes in place, that *even though* we see horrible database errors in the log, nothing *really* breaks ...
[22:05:45] <deep42thought> i.e. you only need to run all "intentions" and usually, the db is fine, afterwards ...
[22:06:17] <abaumann> that absolutely amazing yes. from the error I usually see, I just assumed the worst..
[22:06:29] <abaumann> ..just to find the buildmaster ticking along later on just fine. :-)
[22:06:54] <abaumann> maybe there is this AI.sh or self_healing.sh scripts which help ;-)

[22:07:31] <deep42thought> damn pidgin bug still is not fixed ...
[22:11:38] -!- drathir_tor has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[22:19:01] <deep42thought> the database on the buildmaster uses 100% cpu, again ...
[22:20:46] <abaumann> .. yeah. it usually does :-)
[22:20:57] <abaumann> when it gets to 3 times 100% then things start to get critical..
[22:21:19] <deep42thought> :D
