[18:36:18] <girls> abaumann, FYI: linux-pae is currently hanging in "make prepare" - apparently, this line was dropped from the vanilla kernel a few years ago, but I'm too tired right now to thoroughly think, what changes happened in this commit to adopt them in our kernels ...
[18:36:43] <girls> I'll add a simple "make olddefconfig" for now - this should fix the issue, but might break other stuff ...

[19:42:57] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[19:42:57] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[19:42:58] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> I have funny nice ideas again :-)
[19:50:30] <KillerWasp> youtube-dl is broken, like very old and don't make updates anymore. I think that's must replace by yt-dlp.
[19:50:50] <KillerWasp> https://github.com
[19:51:27] <KillerWasp> it's a continuation of youtube-dl
[19:54:35] <abaumann> mmh, really? I can download with youtube-dl, wol the ETA is for tiniest downloads up to hours..
[19:55:02] <abaumann> yt-dlp is very fast, yeah.
[19:55:18] <abaumann> both work, but you should really probably use youtube-dl..
[19:55:21] <abaumann> *aeh*
[19:55:30] <abaumann> I meant yt-dlp, ov course :-)
[19:55:37] * abaumann is tired..
[19:55:58] <KillerWasp> abaumann: Maybe there are videos that can still be downloaded, but new ones are appearing that can no longer be downloaded.
[19:56:08] <abaumann> ah, ok.
[19:56:22] <abaumann> yeah, my download was a rather old one..
[19:56:44] <KillerWasp> like this https://www.youtube.com
[20:00:44] <KillerWasp> mpv still uses youtube-dl, I can see some videos. But not all, I have to download and watch.
[20:01:17] <KillerWasp> and yes, yt-dlp is very fast. :P
[20:18:38] <abaumann> mmh, yt-dlp is faster than the monstosity called youtube webpage is loading.. ;-)
[20:41:11] <abaumann> deep43thought: I'm test-building linux-pae again, maybe I also see something :-)
[20:56:32] <abaumann> mmh. the pae config could be the standard config with just PAE enabled or not?
[21:02:45] <girls> yes, it should be just that
[21:02:52] <girls> but the PKGBUILD differs significantly :D
[21:06:12] <abaumann> ah, yeah, that one for sure..
[21:08:28] <abaumann> oh.oh. PKGBUILD in linux-pae looks double to me, one from upstream and a complete one from us?
[21:08:48] <girls> really?
[21:09:04] <abaumann> At least, when I use asp32..
[21:09:44] <girls> https://git.archlinux32.org looks all right
[21:09:46] <phrik> Title: PKGBUILD « linux-pae « extra - packages - Archlinux32 package modifications (at git.archlinux32.org)
[21:10:06] <girls> there should be no upstream PKGBUILD, though
[21:10:31] <abaumann> true, no. there is no linux-pae upstream..
[21:12:12] <abaumann> mm. maybe because I exported twice and it did an append?
[21:12:30] <girls> dunno
[21:12:36] <abaumann> ls -al linux-pae/PKGBUILD
[21:12:40] <abaumann> [abaumann@buildmaster ~]$ ls -al linux-pae/PKGBUILD
[21:12:40] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 abaumann abaumann 8083 Sep 27 20:11 linux-pae/PKGBUILD
[21:12:46] <abaumann> asp32 export extra/linux-pae
[21:12:47] <girls> I don't use asp32 tbh :/
[21:12:49] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 abaumann abaumann 16185 Sep 27 20:12 linux-pae/PKGBUILD
[21:12:54] <abaumann> yes, bingo.
[21:13:05] <abaumann> ok. this doesn't explain the issue in:
[21:13:06] <abaumann> sed: can't read /build/linux-pae/config: No such file or directory
[21:13:07] <abaumann> ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package_linux-pae-headers().
[21:13:15] <abaumann> sad, but oh well, I tried. :-)
[21:13:33] <girls> damnit
[21:14:43] <abaumann> _get_gcc_version_from_config, maybe it assumes something..
[21:14:57] <abaumann> ..like that the symlink of 'config' is still pointing somewhere?
[21:15:02] <abaumann> to a file, I mean :-)
[21:15:48] <girls> oh, well, it does
[21:18:43] <abaumann> "$srcdir/config" "${srcdir%/*}/config" sed
[21:18:48] <abaumann> what's the second one doing?
[21:19:20] <girls> I saw, that sometimes the srcdir has $(pwd)/src, but the *real* sources lie in $(pwd) (i.e. where the PKGBUILD is)
[21:19:30] <abaumann> ah..
[21:19:58] <abaumann> well, the sed fails on one of those configs..
[21:20:09] <abaumann> [ -f "$file" ] && break
[21:20:26] <abaumann> mmh. does this follow symlinks?
[21:20:41] <girls> I'm afraid, it just checks for the link being there
[21:30:32] <girls> we could use readlink -f instead

[21:32:33] <abaumann> mmh. this also doesn't make me happy.. ruby and asciidoctor are everywhere for man page generation..
[21:32:36] <abaumann> yeah, readlink is maybe a good idea, I test.. and report back.. :-)
[21:34:09] <abaumann> ui. ruby looks really bad..
[21:35:26] <abaumann> nope readlink just show the file name pointed to.
[21:35:29] <abaumann> but,
[21:35:39] <abaumann> we could use readlink to get to the real place..
[21:35:49] <abaumann> ..all a little bit complicated..
[21:35:55] <girls> nono
[21:36:12] <girls> readlink's exit code will give you 0 on success and 1 if it didn't exist
[21:36:23] <girls> -e is what we want
[21:36:34] <girls> i.e. "readlink -e ... >/dev/null"
[21:38:00] <abaumann> ah, yes. that should work..
[21:46:23] <girls> I didn't see any ruby trouble - did you fix something?
[21:48:34] <abaumann> no, I had to ignore asciidoctor in some places, because installing it has big issues with ruby modules..
[21:48:42] <abaumann> ..I just rebuilt ruby itself.. no problem.
[21:51:25] <abaumann> ah, cryptsetup, util-linux, not coreutils..
[22:06:37] -!- bill-auger has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds]
[22:07:39] <abaumann> this looks like an interesting dependency cycle between ruby and all it's modules.. I wonder..
[22:07:46] <abaumann> ..but tomorrow maybe :-)
[22:07:52] <girls> :D
[22:07:54] <girls> good n8!
[22:08:07] <abaumann> thanks, to you too :-)
