[07:31:50] <abaumann> on low memory, the first thing you have to do is to create a file system and a swap partition, then create and activate the swap, then make a /mnt/tmp and set TMPDIR accordingly (for instance for mkinitcpio)
[07:32:22] <abaumann> also note, that pacman frees certain data (like GPG keys) only in the end of a big run (for instance running pacstrap base), so it might hit "out of memory" then.
