[14:25:02] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[14:25:02] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[14:25:03] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> sane approach to dependency management: there is none, the recommended installation set is FULL
[14:25:04] <abaumann> Vorpal: thanks for reporting the quotes in the key update text, fixed it
[14:25:42] <KitsuWhooa> abaumann: sorry to bug you, has zeroc-ice been rebuilt since I last mentioned?
[14:25:46] <KitsuWhooa> +it
[14:26:21] <KitsuWhooa> I did a pacman -Syu recently on my i686 VM and it still says the package I have installed is newer, which is the one I manually built
[14:27:06] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 http http 7193458 Mar 8 2021 zeroc-ice-3.7.5-1.0-i686.pkg.tar.zst
[14:27:09] <abaumann> nope.
[14:27:29] <KitsuWhooa> mmm :p
[14:27:42] <abaumann> I'll test build it.. :-)
[14:29:05] <abaumann> so many things breaking lately.. *sigh*
[15:13:34] <abaumann> strange, builds without issues locally, I'll trigger a complete rebuild..
[15:15:14] <KitsuWhooa> Yeah, it built fine for me too
[16:57:37] -!- ConSiGno has joined #archlinux32
[16:59:28] <ConSiGno> So I did discover something, KMS hook is much too large now! removing that and manually loading specific modules is a much better way to go with my setup
[17:01:33] <ConSiGno> the initramfs shrunk from 33MB to 8 MB with the KMS removed
[17:03:45] <ConSiGno> which is a really significant reduction
[17:32:42] <abaumann> KitsuWhooa: zeroc-ice rebuilt, I push it to stable..
[17:32:57] <KitsuWhooa> abaumann: can you also check if mumble was rebuilt?
[17:33:05] <KitsuWhooa> I think protobuf was
[17:33:22] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 http http 310 Feb 23 08:38 protobuf-21.12-1.0-pentium4.pkg.tar.zst.sig
[17:33:25] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 http http 310 Feb 23 08:39 protobuf-21.12-1.0-i686.pkg.tar.zst.sig
[17:33:28] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 http http 310 Feb 28 17:17 protobuf-21.12-1.0-i486.pkg.tar.zst.sig
[17:33:31] <abaumann> protobuf was.
[17:33:38] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 http http 3770065 Aug 29 2021 mumble-1.3.4-8.0-i686.pkg.tar.zst
[17:33:41] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 http http 310 Aug 29 2021 mumble-1.3.4-8.0-i686.pkg.tar.zst.sig
[17:33:44] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 http http 3768351 Aug 29 2021 mumble-1.3.4-8.0-pentium4.pkg.tar.zst
[17:33:47] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 http http 310 Aug 29 2021 mumble-1.3.4-8.0-pentium4.pkg.tar.zst.sig
[17:33:50] <abaumann> mmh. mumble not..
[17:33:52] <abaumann> I'll test again :-)
[17:35:01] <abaumann> ConSiGno: interesting, wondering what makes KMS that big..
[18:01:56] <ConSiGno> I dunno, removing it made a world of difference, booting was faster, everything was faster
[18:02:04] <ConSiGno> very weird stuff
[18:02:09] -!- T`aZ has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
[18:04:09] -!- T`aZ has joined #archlinux32
[18:06:50] <ConSiGno> I'm currently building directfb, hoping it will work :)
[18:07:06] <abaumann> good luck :-)
[18:07:30] <abaumann> KitsuWhooa: just built mumble, and retriggered it.
[18:07:46] <abaumann> I fear, we were lagging behind quite a bit on the buildmaster building packages..
[18:07:51] <abaumann> ..it feels much faster now.
[18:08:18] <abaumann> zeroc-ice is in stable.
[18:34:21] <girls> gcc11 blocks quite some packages
[18:37:15] <girls> sorting by priority is broken on the build list webpage ... strange
[19:00:30] <abaumann> mmh. gcc11 is just build-support, the block cound looks bogus. It should build now anyway (TM) :-)
[19:00:51] <abaumann> The commit time is '0000-00-00 00:00:00', this also doesn't sound right..
[19:14:15] -!- abaumann has quit [Quit: leaving]
[19:20:46] <girls> that just means, that the harvest-commit-times script did not (yet) run successfully
[21:14:15] <ConSiGno> directFB does work!
[21:14:44] <ConSiGno> Still trying to figure out why kms bloats the initramfs so, going from 8 MB to 32 MB is nuts
[21:26:29] <ConSiGno> ... goodness. Trying to load KMS hook is eating my swap like crazy, I think there's a legitimate problem here. this is a fresh install too
[21:26:36] <ConSiGno> :(
[21:30:42] <ConSiGno> yeah this might be anissue with the 6.x kernel?
[21:30:45] <ConSiGno> I hope not...
[21:32:51] <ConSiGno> 500 MB Swap!! yeah that sounds like an infinite loop somewhere
