[05:17:51] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[05:17:51] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[05:17:52] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> that's ironic. the stack-overflow test overflows on the stack and fails the test
[05:19:37] <abaumann> deep42thought: I'm sad you broke your foot.. go ahead and change things. But if each package has it's own repo (and I really hope, the history of earch project doesn't disappear), we would have to split updates into a "fetch all package names", then a "update each package git repo". asp32 breaks, also the merging. This might be a major overhaul..

[12:28:58] <girls> oh, so it's a bigger issue than first thought :-/
[12:29:25] <girls> technically, we could do this already now, because each package also resides on its own branch (that's, what asp(32) checks out)
[13:28:53] <girls> which package contains pkgctl-repo-clone? I'm looking for the source (to see, where the git repositories will be located), but I'm unable to find them

[15:38:28] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[15:38:28] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[15:38:29] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> I'm all for an docdepends upstreams and a doc hook, in order to reduce all those silly dependencies just to get documentation nobody reads afterwards, because they don't know about the 'man' command.. (rant of the day)
[15:54:53] <abaumann> deep42thought: yep, I also tried to find it, went to the announcement, to the man page, then to the PKGBUILD, which states https://gitlab.archlinux.org there is a reference to a317b2e7de0c942b9c0d52b805dc05f5e7a32cbc in PKGBUILD, which I also don't get..

[17:12:28] <swimm3r> Hi. I would like to install achlinux32 i386 on an old computer. Is it true that i386 is EOL? Thanks.
[17:52:36] <girls> swimm3r: what hardware do you have, that you need i386?
[17:52:43] <girls> We have a rudimentary i486
[17:52:50] <girls> it runs on my router :)
[17:53:35] <girls> but to actually answer your question: yes, i386 is eol - but I believe, even debian does not support it (anymore)
[17:53:41] <swimm3r> my bad, it's i486... it's a P2 @ 350 mhz, with 256 MB RAM, and 8MB video
[17:56:51] <girls> 256MB should suffice (my router does not have more, either)
[17:57:32] <girls> the hard part with i486 is, that we don't have a reliably booting install disk for i486
[17:57:57] <girls> so the installation is mostly "hook up the hdd somewhere else, install it from a different host system, put the hdd back, boot"
[17:59:15] <swimm3r> I can try this
[18:00:34] <swimm3r> the ++ part will be, to make the dual-boot work
[18:01:54] <girls> that's mainly an issue of the bootloader, which should be independent of the target architecture (i.e. it should work like dualboot grub on x86_64)
[18:02:12] <girls> out of curiosity: with which os do you want to dual-boot?
[18:02:22] <swimm3r> win98
[18:05:58] <swimm3r> ' rootnonverify (hd0,x) + chainloader +1 ' maybe will do the job
[18:49:16] <swimm3r> girls, problems are also if I boot the install disk from a cd?
[18:49:48] <girls> you can try that, but IIRC, the ram is not sufficient, because the regular iso tries to load itself into ramfs
[18:50:19] <girls> also, I'm not sure, what architecture P2 runs on - I think, it might even be suitable for i686
[18:50:49] <swimm3r> it has MMX capability
[18:50:55] <swimm3r> not sure for SSE
[18:50:59] <girls> check out https://archlinux32.org

[18:51:26] <girls> can you boot any linux? Then you could simply check /proc/cpuinfo for the needed flags
[18:53:36] <girls> looks, like P2 is pre-SSE

[20:58:00] <ConSiGno> Hello! o/
[21:06:16] <ConSiGno> hitting some weird issues when compiling some programs, not sure if it's the distro settings or the code base having a problem. really fun!!!!
[21:06:59] <ConSiGno> okay, "some" being one program and I can get in touch with the devs about it, but... did take some wind out of my sails
