[03:57:24] <dankuser> abaumann: thanks, handy to see how this issue was fixed
[04:30:58] <bill-auger> FWIW, i dont like how arch closes tickets so eagerly like "it will be fixed" - i would not consider the bug to be fixed, until the fix is published - until then, the bug is still affecting all users, who may be looking for an open bug report
[05:06:22] <girls> bill-auger: you're talking about arch or arch32? Is there something, we should change?
[05:22:17] <bill-auger> i mean arch - that ticket above is an example - i dunno if you guys do that
[05:22:52] <bill-auger> it was closed with the justificatio that it will be fixed when the next glibc and binutils are published
[05:23:35] <bill-auger> i see that often - i would nt close the bug report until the fix is represented in the binary repos
[05:25:21] <bill-auger> to re-phrase that: _i_ do not close bug reports until the fix is represented in the binary repos - i would suggest that no distro does
[05:26:23] <bill-auger> for one selfish reason, that i am the one that would need to accept or reject duplicate bug reports, opened only becuase the existing (still relevant) bug reort is no longer visible
[05:28:13] <bill-auger> in other words, those duplicate bug reports would be closed as not-a-bug, or "already fixed", which is obviously false - the duplicate would not have been opened, if the bug was truly fixed for the users
