[08:53:50] <KitsuWhooa> uh
[08:53:51] <KitsuWhooa> Broadcast message from root@buildmaster.archlinux32.org on pts/6 (Mon 2024-03-04 20:26:32 CET):
[08:53:51] <KitsuWhooa> The system will reboot now!
[08:53:58] <KitsuWhooa> who did that?
[08:54:28] <KitsuWhooa> I mean, I guess it's still alive. That's good
[08:55:06] <KitsuWhooa> someone definitely ran an upgrade and it wasn't me :p
[08:55:20] <KitsuWhooa> [2024-03-04T20:22:20+0100] [ALPM] upgraded device-mapper (2.03.23-1 -> 2.03.23-3)
[08:55:38] <KitsuWhooa> [2024-03-04T20:22:54+0100] [ALPM] upgraded lvm2 (2.03.23-1 -> 2.03.23-3)
[08:55:38] <KitsuWhooa> [2024-03-04T20:22:54+0100] [ALPM] upgraded mdadm (4.3-1 -> 4.3-2)
[08:55:40] <KitsuWhooa> yeah idk
[08:56:53] <KitsuWhooa> > Build master is not sane.
[08:57:33] <KitsuWhooa> >> ERROR 2013 (HY000) at line 6: Lost connection to server during query
[08:57:36] <KitsuWhooa> what the fuck
[09:02:18] <KitsuWhooa> $ sudo systemctl restart madiadb.service
[09:02:18] <KitsuWhooa> Failed to restart madiadb.service: Unit madiadb.service not found.
[09:02:21] <KitsuWhooa> ??????
[09:02:44] <KitsuWhooa> oh
[09:02:46] <KitsuWhooa> I made a typo
[09:05:29] <KitsuWhooa> Does this affect us? Mar 05 10:03:30 buildmaster.archlinux32.org mariadbd[3306601]: 2024-03-05 10:03:30 0 [Warning] Neither --relay-log nor --relay-log-index were used; so replication may break when this MariaDB server acts as a replica and has its hostname changed. Please use '--log-basename=#' or '--relay-log=buildmaster-relay-bin' to avoid this problem.
[09:15:07] <KitsuWhooa> okay whatever I raised some limits and it works now
[09:15:17] <KitsuWhooa> or not
[09:18:59] <KitsuWhooa> > There are pending mysql queries:

[16:16:23] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[16:16:23] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[16:16:24] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> not to have http://archlinux32.microsoft.com suddendly in the list of mirrors. ;-)
[16:16:43] <abaumann> KitsuWhooa: ah, the buildmaster.. I think my final words yesterday were: "is in limbo"
[16:17:25] <abaumann> I'll have a look. I managed to recover my build machine after some manual massaging mdadm stuff from the iso.. I think the buildmaster is safe now (also has a mdadm raid).
[16:18:31] <abaumann> this mysql replication log warning I have seen before, so far I didn't see bad effects on the slave.
[16:18:41] <abaumann> didn't have time to dig deeper :-)
[16:22:34] <abaumann> Usually you can just delete the tmp.* files in work on the buildmaster.
[16:22:45] <abaumann> sanity-check will complain, if something is fundamentally wrong.
[16:23:12] <abaumann> there was a shutdownasap running which decided to boot maybe?
[16:23:13] <abaumann> dunno?
[16:23:54] <KitsuWhooa> You said not to update/restart the buildmaster yesterday
[16:23:55] <KitsuWhooa> and someone did
[16:24:02] <abaumann> I usually update the machines and then run 'shutdownasap -r' in a screen, so the system will reboot when it sees fit. This is usually not a problem. Unless something was different from usual, like a stuck database in a deadlocked transaction.
[16:24:02] <KitsuWhooa> but it seems to work fine
[16:24:06] <KitsuWhooa> and yeah I ficed it
[16:24:07] <abaumann> nope.
[16:24:11] <abaumann> I did.. indirectly.
[16:24:13] <abaumann> :-)
[16:24:13] <KitsuWhooa> *fixed
[16:24:14] <KitsuWhooa> ah
[16:24:30] <abaumann> I put a shutdownasap -r in a screen and then had to hurry away.. sorry :-)
[16:24:49] <abaumann> but, on the positive side: we still have all raids and the data upon them.
[16:25:32] <KitsuWhooa> indeed :p
[16:25:42] <KitsuWhooa> 18:22:34 <abaumann> Usually you can just delete the tmp.* files in work on the buildmaster. <-- I figured it out a bit too late, but I did
[16:25:52] <KitsuWhooa> Anyway
[16:26:07] <abaumann> sorry again. :-)
[16:26:09] <KitsuWhooa> I got buildmaster to try to build jaraco.text, but it's failing with a really obscure error
[16:26:12] <KitsuWhooa> it's okay, no worries
[16:26:24] <abaumann> uh, it does?
[16:26:49] <KitsuWhooa> ...one moment
[16:27:32] <KitsuWhooa> it previously wouldn't attempt to send it to the builders because it thought there was a mod commit
[16:27:36] <KitsuWhooa> so I made a blank PKGBUILD
[16:27:51] <KitsuWhooa> why does build-logs take forever to load...
[16:27:59] <KitsuWhooa> maybe we should move a few of them to a different directory
[16:29:15] <KitsuWhooa> https://buildmaster.archlinux32.org
[16:29:22] <KitsuWhooa> I don't suppose you have any idea what that's about
[16:29:46] <KitsuWhooa> but if we get it to rebuild, then I think a few more python packages will be unblocked
[16:34:01] <abaumann> not the slightest clue.
[16:34:54] -!- bdju has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
[16:35:18] <KitsuWhooa> alright, I'll keep fighting it :p
[16:35:37] <KitsuWhooa> so far a lot of packages don't build because jaraco.text doesn't depend on jaraco.functools, and thus it doesn't get installed

[19:39:33] <KitsuWhooa> one day I'm going to get so annoyed I'm going to make get-package-updates completely ignore haskell
[19:40:09] <KitsuWhooa> waiting 30 minutes just to hopefully have buildmaster pick up a commit is excruciating

[19:45:11] * KitsuWhooa screams into the void
[19:49:24] <KitsuWhooa> I wonder why buildmaster slowed down to a crawl in general

[20:36:51] <KitsuWhooa> oh great
[20:37:05] <KitsuWhooa> because get-package-updates fails, it is now trying to build haskell pacakges because it hasn't deleted them yet
[20:37:05] <KitsuWhooa> great
[20:49:00] <KitsuWhooa> almost an hour later I am still trying to get get-package-updates to finish a run...
[20:52:50] <KitsuWhooa> haskell-sockaddr a6aabd332f491dce7515df8d0e6530719616d6a4 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 extra "make_source_info" did not return a "pkgbase" - eh, what?
[20:52:51] <KitsuWhooa> fml
[21:32:54] <KitsuWhooa> 2 hours and a hack later, it finally ran
[21:38:32] <KitsuWhooa> Okay, elfutils built!
[21:38:48] <KitsuWhooa> jaraco.text built!!!
[21:39:06] <KitsuWhooa> 🥳
