[06:45:15] <deep42thought> actually, we could need some testers, willing to test all/most of the compiled packages in testing and community-testing
[06:46:08] <deep42thought> note however, that the packages are somewhat outdated, because of the failed builds which partially prevent also "unbroken" package builds to be moved from staging to testing

[18:56:51] <tyzoid> Hey deep42thought: Just making sure you saw that both isos were up on the mirror now
[18:57:05] <deep42thought> I saw
[18:57:07] <deep42thought> thanks!
[18:57:12] <tyzoid> Something I discovered while building the dual iso
[18:57:34] <tyzoid> archiso will silently fail if you have a local repo that doesn't include an empty repo for the other arch
[18:57:55] <tyzoid> i.e. if I'm holding a package back on i686, I need to create an empty repo with an empty db for archiso to actually do something
[18:58:28] <tyzoid> Might be useful for future reference
[19:00:21] <deep42thought> you say, that each repo which is available for i686 also needs to be present for x86_64?
[19:01:18] -!- guys has quit [Ping timeout: 255 seconds]
[19:03:25] <deep42thought> this is actually quite interesting for me, because I'm currently fighting with pacman to use different caches for i686 and x86_64 (on the build slaves) - but somehow I allway miss some invokations inside archbuild ...
[19:03:44] <tyzoid> ah
[19:03:58] <tyzoid> I just made it one larger repo, with both architectures available in them
[19:04:13] <tyzoid> so it's localrepo/$arch/
[19:04:27] <tyzoid> and I needed to have both i686 and x86_64 to build
[19:11:21] <deep42thought> btw: I took the freedom to remove all failing and waiting builds from the build-list, so I could "legally" move all packages from staging to testing
[19:12:01] <deep42thought> I plan to build only the packages whose versions differ from the official ones
[19:12:11] <deep42thought> this should reduce the amount of failing packages a lot
[19:12:32] <tyzoid> sounds good
[19:13:08] <tyzoid> I'll do a quick build of the iso out of testing, once that's done, and go through the install process
[19:13:36] <tyzoid> We should probably have a script that can automate certain tests.
[19:14:41] <tyzoid> I'm thinking of possible solutions
[19:14:44] -!- guys has joined #archlinux-ports
[19:14:58] <tyzoid> deep42thought: What do you think about an expect script for a vagrant box?
[19:15:17] <tyzoid> That would allow testing of the upgrade process/functional tests of certain packages
[19:15:30] <deep42thought> yes
[19:15:42] <deep42thought> I have no experience in this, but it sounds reasonable
[19:16:00] <tyzoid> The only challenge would be keeping the vagrant machine up to date, so I would probably need to automate upgrading/deployment of the test machine
[19:16:19] <tyzoid> I'll start some experimentation with that over the next week or so
[19:16:47] <tyzoid> anyway, I need to reboot my machine, and I've got an event to be at afterward
[19:16:53] <tyzoid> I'll check the logs after
[19:17:36] <deep42thought> cu later!

[20:51:56] <deep42thought> oh noez ... I was looking for a bug which seemed to be in archbuild - it always tried to install packages from staging although they were in testing now - and now it turns out, that it was a problem with the mirror: Someone (= I) messed up the staging.db.tar.gz *grml*
[20:52:14] <deep42thought> ... just if anyone else had a similar problem ;-)
