[00:57:41] <eschwartz> Abbott: so if you go to the main website listed in /topic, there is 32-bit installation media available, and you can install either from the archlinux32 repos or the mainline repos.
[00:59:26] <tyzoid> Abbott: If you want to do an install from the archlinux32 repos, you'll need to change the mirrorlist to an arch32 mirror, then download and install (via pacman -U) the archlinux32-keyring package.
[00:59:44] <tyzoid> Abbott: Otherwise, we're going to be making a new ISO release in a few days that will include this package by default

[02:09:24] <Abbott> are the official repos maintained at all anymore if arch doesn't support 32 bit anymore? Makes the most sense to switch to community repos right away in that case
[02:10:09] <tyzoid> Abbott: They are continuing to be maintained through November, iirc
[02:16:57] <Abbott> oh I see
[02:17:01] <Abbott> thanks for all the info!

[16:59:03] <deep42thought> If someone has some spare time: I'm wondering, why dietlibc does not compile for i686 (with our toolchain, repos, etc.).
[16:59:15] <deep42thought> It comes without dependencies :-/
[17:00:37] <deep42thought> I'm afraid, it's some generic problem which also happens with other packages
[17:02:51] -!- user00265 has joined #archlinux-ports
[17:02:54] <deep42thought> ah, and: It compiles for x86_64 ;-)
[17:03:04] * user00265 smacks ryuji
[17:03:20] <user00265> I can't access my box at home, but apparently it is still connected lol
[17:04:01] <deep42thought> nat?
[17:04:49] <user00265> nah, trying to use TeamViwer to access my gaming box it and I know I did a stupid and screwed that machine up
[17:06:14] <deep42thought> I once connected the power-pin via a transistor to the serial interface of my router - so I could start and hard-power-off my fileserver from anywhere
[17:06:30] <deep42thought> maybe you'd need something similar?
[17:08:02] <user00265> maybe, since it's probably half-frozen is what I think
[17:14:45] <user00265> back to work I go
[17:14:54] <user00265> have a good day, people!
[17:14:55] <user00265> :)

[19:11:54] -!- tyler has joined #archlinux-ports
[19:12:01] tyler is now known as tyzoid_
[20:22:21] <eschwartz> deep42thought: you forgot to add the patch you mention in https://bugs.archlinux.org :p
[20:22:22] <phrik> Title: FS#54994 : [devtools] makechrootpkg leaves behind empty directory tree if download of source failed (at bugs.archlinux.org)
[20:22:29] <deep42thought> crap
[20:23:44] <eschwartz> Also for the record you can email patches to the arch-projects mailing list, and don't necessarily have to make a bugreport as well if you don't want to.
[20:23:56] <eschwartz> But then again, some people do both.
[20:24:10] <deep42thought> I'm not on the arch-projects mailing list
[20:24:19] <tyzoid_> time to subscribe both of us to that ml
[20:24:25] <deep42thought> how many emails/time is that?
[20:25:15] <jelle> not many
[20:25:20] <jelle> 2-3 per month? :p
[20:25:29] <deep42thought> so, like in here :-)
[20:25:30] <eschwartz> Hmm, I'm wondering whether that shouldn't be done via a `trap` instead.
[20:25:49] <deep42thought> but a trap would override possible outer traps
[20:25:56] <deep42thought> and I'm not _that_ familiar with the source
[20:26:13] <deep42thought> or can you have a different trap inside a function?
[20:28:33] <eschwartz> okay, what is WORKDIR for anyway? (lib/common.sh)
[20:29:31] <eschwartz> We should just reuse that and thereby reuse the existing trap
[20:30:38] <deep42thought> only crossrepomove and find-libdeps use it
[20:32:18] <deep42thought> better: https://pastebin.com
[20:32:19] <phrik> Title: diff --git a/makechrootpkg.in b/makechrootpkg.in index 81f69fe..d1d2043 100644 - Pastebin.com (at pastebin.com)
[20:32:20] <deep42thought> ?
[20:32:59] <eschwartz> no, you need to set it up too
[20:33:05] <deep42thought> oh
[20:34:56] <eschwartz> Also files named "patch" rather than "something.patch" offend my sense of elegance. :p
[20:35:16] <deep42thought> was shorter, generated via 'git diff HEAD > /tmp/patch'
[20:36:31] <deep42thought> https://pastebin.com

[20:37:16] <eschwartz> Looks okay to me.
[20:40:21] <eschwartz> :p
[20:40:25] <deep42thought> :'-(
[20:41:00] <eschwartz> You can't add attachments to a task (because you cannot edit them at all!), but you should be able to add it when you edit a comment.
[20:41:20] <eschwartz> Thus allowing you to conceal your human failings. :D
[20:41:48] <deep42thought> nah, that's me - everyone should see it :-)
[20:45:54] <deep42thought> but: thanks for the hint
