[14:43:53] <abaumann> you can get to <1GB by installing the bare minimum.. my 486-chroot is 469 MB at the moment.

[14:45:09] <abaumann> yeah. you have to ommit actively some dependencies.. for instance linux-firmware is huge, that's why I built a monolithic kernel.
