[21:03:02] <tyzoid> yans: Did you want to get a hold of the arch32 guys?
[21:03:07] <tyzoid> If so, we're in #archlinux32
[21:22:11] -!- sunshavi has joined #archlinux-ports
[21:51:29] -!- oaken-source has joined #archlinux-ports
[22:12:57] -!- shentey has joined #archlinux-ports
[22:13:54] <AndrevS> So, i686 moving to its own channel? What about this channel? Are you guys planning any other ports?
[22:14:10] <guys> Well, who knows?
[22:14:57] <guys> i686 people still hang out here too, it's just there's a dedicated channel as well with dedicated bots and stuff
[22:15:10] <guys> next up is aarch64 I guess
[22:15:43] <AndrevS> aarch64 is covered by #archlinux-arm , isn't it?
[22:16:27] <guys> Well, -arm is a separate distro. Might be nice if we could get archlinux.org infra to cover aarch64 too
[22:17:28] <guys> failing that, well, this channel does also collect people from various arch-related distros. There's parabola, -arm, and -32 people in here, easily reached. ;)
[22:19:21] <AndrevS> Yeah ;)
[22:23:10] <AndrevS> But what other architectures would be worth it? There was once this archlinux-mips.org website, but it seems it never took off. And well... what MIPS hardware is out there anyways?
[22:24:25] <AndrevS> I'm wondering about RISC-V. Will it become a successful architecture?
[22:43:12] -!- sunshavi has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
[22:44:05] -!- shentey has quit [Quit: Konversation terminated!]
[22:50:10] <brtln> the thing is, nobody knows
[22:50:39] <brtln> we as in upstream arch won't pick up anything unless it's somewhat popular and wide
[22:51:15] <brtln> we could of course take aarch64, but given it was already figured out by someone else, sounds like waste of time
[22:51:37] <brtln> risc-v might be a thing in the future but you can also go play on lottery
[22:57:36] <brtln> (well, either popular or we get all developers to agree how automatic builders should look like)
[23:05:31] <oaken-source> someone started a risc-v port for arch, I saw a repo on github
[23:05:38] <oaken-source> not sure if they ever joined this channel thoug
[23:05:44] -!- AndrevS has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[23:07:02] <oaken-source> here we go: https://github.com
[23:07:04] <phrik> Title:Arch Linux RISC-V ยท GitHub (at github.com)
[23:07:15] <tyzoid> guys: Yeah, most of our front-end stuff is different. I think we really only use the pkgbuilds and svntogit for scheduling new version
[23:07:18] <tyzoid> versions*
[23:08:51] <oaken-source> the work of abaumann on the i486 bootstrap really makes it easy to bootstrap arch on any ISA with a marginally active community and gcc support.
[23:09:00] <oaken-source> or arch-related distros
