[02:06:16] <marc2377> Hi. Can someone running Arch32 show me what their '/etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset' file looks like?
[02:06:57] <marc2377> Or just tell me if it's got the following two lines: '#default_uki="/efi/EFI/Linux/arch-linux.efi"' and '#fallback_uki="/efi/EFI/Linux/arch-linux-fallback.efi"'
[02:07:38] <marc2377> If someone can also tell me where the rules for generating this file are, I'd be very grateful
[05:36:38] <KitsuWhooa> You can get the package and inspect the file yourself
[05:36:44] <KitsuWhooa> Or am I missing something
[05:41:28] <KitsuWhooa> but also, why are you using arch32 on an efi system
[05:43:13] <KitsuWhooa> girls: abaumann: key package is expiring...
[05:54:39] <KitsuWhooa> Oh I'm dumb. I also have no idea how the preset is generated
[05:54:56] <KitsuWhooa> but to answer your question, it does not have those lines
[05:56:02] <KitsuWhooa> https://wiki.archlinux.org
[05:56:04] <phrik> Title: mkinitcpio - ArchWiki (at wiki.archlinux.org)
[06:32:07] <KitsuWhooa> well that's nice, iwd is broken
[07:02:57] <KitsuWhooa> thanks libell for not bumping the so
[07:03:21] <KitsuWhooa> /usr/lib/iwd/iwd: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/iwd/iwd: undefined symbol: l_genl_attr_recurse, version ELL_0.10
[07:20:57] <KitsuWhooa> right, fixed

[18:09:38] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[18:09:38] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[18:09:39] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> being currently under a DoS myself since almost two weeks, so I'm a little bit angry at the internet specifically and the world in general.
[18:10:25] <abaumann> marc2377: mold is blacklisted on u486 because of onetbb (which doens't build on i486). the packages in the package api php pages seem heavily broken sadly..
[18:12:05] <abaumann> pacstrap can take a -C <config> parameter, so you can also copy the /etc/pacman.conf on the ISO to say /tmp/mypacman.conf and the you can set the Architecture there for instance to i486 to force a i486 installation (this should maybe be documented in the wiki in an FAQ?).
[18:19:14] <abaumann> nope, no iki in /etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset
[18:19:31] <abaumann> pacman -Qo /etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset
[18:19:31] <abaumann> error: No package owns /etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset
[18:19:35] <abaumann> mmh. interesting.
[18:19:44] <abaumann> must be a hook of mkinitcpio
[18:19:49] <KitsuWhooa> it's generated when the linux package is installed
[18:19:57] <abaumann> ah. thanks. :-)
[18:20:13] <abaumann> sounds, like something EFIsh was on the system then..

[19:53:11] <morriset> Hello. I'm not able to install archlinux32-2024.07.10-i686.iso on my PC-Pentium4 since it has limitations on the CD rom. It cannot read DVD-R, only CD-R/W and the size of the iso is 796MB. I've tried to install by using archlinux32-2023.03.02-i686.iso (693MB) unfortunately pacstrap command cannot continue due PGP signature errors. Is there a workaround?
[19:53:34] <morriset> Also I have to mention USB boot is not possible.
[19:54:33] <KitsuWhooa> you'll probably need to plug the disk in to another computer and install it in a VM there
[19:56:13] <KitsuWhooa> alternatively, maybe you can figure out how to do PXE
[19:56:58] <KitsuWhooa> 22:53:34 <morriset> Also I have to mention USB boot is not possible. <-- have you tried plop?
[19:58:06] <KitsuWhooa> since 2023.03.02 boots, maybe you can boot into it and then do kexec to the kernel from a usb drive

[20:10:31] <morriset> I'm thinking to use PXE since my hardware supports it. Nevertheless I was looking for a workaround via pacman-key --init, populate and refresh-keys but it seems something is wrong since still not able to install due pgp signature failure
