[00:28:41] <void09_> welp, latest torrent lib still compiles to 486, but the torrent client didn't catch up
[01:05:56] <void09_> managed to compile rqbit for i486 but I get "cpu isa level is lower than required" when trying to run it. wonder how can i debug this
[01:08:28] <KitsuWhooa> does gdb work?
[01:08:48] <KitsuWhooa> if so, you can try adding a breakpoint to exit or _exit

[08:44:32] <void09_> "
[08:44:32] <void09_> If the source machine is too new, you'll get errors like CPU ISA level is lower than required, segfaults or other strange errors.
[08:44:32] <void09_> "
[08:44:41] <void09_> huh so the compilation machine arch matters as well ?
[08:45:47] <void09_> CPU ISA level is lower than required: That probably means your GLIBC on the source machine was higher than the target. You'll need to fix that and recompile Rust.
[08:47:20] <void09_> 2.39 in i486 repo for some reason, latest is 2.40
[08:48:17] <void09_> https://archlinux32.org
[08:48:21] <void09_> error ;\

[09:36:59] <void09_> just noticed distrowatch doesnt have a distinct entry for archlinux32 ?
[09:37:09] <void09_> doesn't show up when filtering for i486
[10:49:40] <void09_> meh, compiled on a 2.39 glic manjaro, still no go
[10:51:13] <void09_> oh, maybe cause it was an intermediary 2.39, not first version
[11:38:50] <void09_> welp, still no go with glibc 2.38 host, must be some rust bugs

[18:03:09] <void09_> i am thinking compiling on glibc 2.39-1 should run on 2.39-4 machine, no ?
[18:05:18] <KitsuWhooa> yes
[18:05:32] <KitsuWhooa> I suspect the glibc you're using to compile is configured differently
[18:20:39] <void09_> oh ffs, how am I supposed to get it right then
[18:21:32] <void09_> maybe use an i686 vm host, but it can't be arch32 since the i686 is already on 2.40 there
[18:21:42] <void09_> a huge pita to downgrade everything to match 2.39
[18:22:27] <void09_> wish arch mirrors saved old packages and there was a tool that you can tell, I want glibc 2.39, figure the rest out

[18:29:11] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[18:29:11] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[18:29:12] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> Rust will manage to kill linux userland, something Java never managed in 30 years :-)
[18:29:23] <abaumann> void09_: we are on repology.org :-)
[18:29:55] <abaumann> and also, you could try enhanced-ctorrent (and maybe the server process bsts or how it was called). This should build fine on i486.
