[07:58:11] <abaumann> ok, things look really bad: libarchive (bsdtar) breaks if you update to a newer libxml2 (did I mention that Linux user space dependencies are just crazy?).
[07:58:30] <abaumann> Now. One option is to clone pacman-static and do a libarchive-static (so we have a statically linked bsdtar-static)

[13:43:47] <abaumann> libtool is driving me nuts.. it's the perfect tool for doing a link operation in the most complicated possible way.. (I know where it comes from.. but yey, wouldn't it not have been easier to just fix the linker on old Unix systems?)
